Risk disclosure
Last updated 2026-10-14
Trading stocks, and especially day trading low-priced, fast-moving stocks, carries a high risk of loss. You can lose money quickly, including more than you planned to risk on a trade. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
Scalpel is not advice
Scalpel is software. Nothing in the app, on this site, in our Discord or in our emails is investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell anything, or a promise of results. QUITE RIGHT LIMITED is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other regulator to give investment advice.
Reads, scans and intel
The read line, chart reads, scanner alerts, squeeze score and intel describe what the data shows. They do not predict what price will do. Where we say a read "tended" to do something in replayed recordings, that is a historical observation on a limited sample, not a forecast. Intel comes from third-party sources (IBKR, SEC EDGAR, Nasdaq, FINRA) that can be late, incomplete or wrong.
Orders and stops
In LIVE mode every key and button can place a real order in your Interactive Brokers account. Scalpel's stops and take-profits are watched by the app on your computer; they are not orders at your broker and only work while Scalpel is running and connected to TWS or IB Gateway. Software faults, network problems, broker outages, halts and fast markets can delay or prevent exits and cause fills far from the price you expected.
Simulated results
SIM mode, replayed sessions and any figures shown on this site are simulated or demo data. Simulated results have limits: they do not account for every cost, for the effect of your own orders on the market, or for the pressure of trading real money. Past or simulated performance does not guarantee future results.
Start in SIM
Practise the full flow in SIM before you switch to LIVE, set your size presets and risk caps sensibly, and be flat when you switch modes.
